I'm trying to change the seals on my front mount steering (h5167) and I cant get the port support bracket off. I followed the directions that came with the kit and it dont budge. The starboard side came right off but the port one wont. Is the port bracket threaded on the threaded tube on the motor bracket? Do you have any tricks? I sprayed with penetrating oil and hit it with a 2x4 but it seams as if it is being held on somewhere. The motors are twin 150 hpdi's 2000.
thanks

RJ,
The support on the port side is exactly the same as starboard. The support snugs up against a stainless washer at the tilt tube, and this is where it is probably stuck. Give it several good soakings of PB, then tap all around it and it should free up. Of course, your access to it is limited because it's between the motors, but that's just the deal... :1898_:
