Washington State - fishing at last !!

Postby C - Lark » Sun Aug 22, 2010 11:04 am

It's been a long Summer, mostly working on the boat. (The dreaded electrical problems). Finally tossed enough $$$ at the problem to get it resolved (for now). Payoff time:

Out of Ilwaco, WA on Saturday - boats bunched up in the Columbia River - Combat fishing ! Ran across the "bar" (entrance to the Pacific), and out about 16-18 miles. Got into some good action. Chinook in my right hand is 22 pounds, smaller Silver salmon at 9 pounds, and fishing buddy Frank is holding two Silver salmon -- 12 and 13 pounds. Decent ocean, with about 4 foot swells and a 1 foot wind chop. No problem for the Proline 2950.
Hoping to try for Albacore Tuna this coming week, if weather cooperates !! :uwp2: :1992_beer_cheer

Finally!

I keep thinking about your boat...you may get lucky with all that persistence and find every problem...but my guess is more will pop up given the age of the original wiring. Keep lookin'...at some point you'll find someone that knows his stuff and is willing to do a complete rewire for you-complete with tinned marine wire, adhesive connectors, and proper switching. I have a hunch that is what will have to happen if you wanna kill all those gremlins once and for all :1992_beer_cheer

be prpared.
run a set of spare wires with extra length from stern to helm, medium guage and tag them . put a fuse holder in one of them and if anything quits you have bypass set ready to go.

then you will never need them.

No good recipes for eskimo candy -- I just swab a generous portion of tartar sauce / lemon juice into the body cavity, lay on some good sweet onions, wrap them in foil, and set on the BBQ grill for a few minutes. Mouth watering good!! (Ah, and just a couple of Sam Adams dark beers to wash it all down). :1992_beer_cheer :1992_beer_cheer
